Our History:

Book-Builder was established in 2003, initially offering an easy to compile Yearbook for schools. Yearbooks are an established product in many countries, most notably in America. Unfortunately until now, Yearbooks are been the domain of specialist printers and graphic designers.

Some schools have tried to produce them themselves; however they require complex publishing software, which has been the reason why most schools in the UK have not embraced these popular records of school life.

Following the success of Yearbooks, Book-Builder developed Eventbooks. Eventbooks uses the same process as Yearbooks; however they are a record of an event or an activity. Eventbooks are popular with any event which involves 75+ people, children or adults, examples being, local sports competitions, sports clubs, swimming galas, gymkhanas, golf clubs, ballet groups, choirs, graduation ceremonies, old school reunions, classic car rallies, company conferences etc. The potential market for Eventbooks is enormous.

The popularity and demand for Yearbooks and Eventbooks throughout the UK makes the Book-Builder business model ideal for franchising.

Distinct from other businesses, the concept of Yearbooks and Eventbooks creates year after year repeat demand. Once sold in to a school, club, association, company or any group of people that want a record of their activities or achievements, the following year they approach Book-Builder to repeat the process. This means that effort securing a Yearbook or Eventbook is rewarded many times over.

The Book Builder Franchise Package

Franchise Initial Fee:

There is an initial £5,000 plus VAT Franchise fee which provides Franchisees with:

• A five year renewable licence to operate using the know-how, expertise, processes and Book-Builder name
• A start-up pack of promotional marketing material
• A full and comprehensive Operations Manual, that contains everything you need to know
• 2 day Franchisee training held at our Surrey offices

Franchise Set-Up Capital Requirement:

In addition to the initial franchise fee, Franchisees will be required to have:

• Their own transport
• A computer with Internet access
• A laser printer and fax machine
• A dedicated land line
• A dedicated mobile phone

Financial Information

Given the low initial licence fee and minimal set-up capital requirements, the right person can become a Book-Builder Franchisee relatively inexpensively.

The ongoing fees have been linked to the number of Yearbooks and Eventbooks you order. This means that if you don't get the orders, you don't pay us anything! With the popularity and demand nationwide for Yearbooks and Eventbooks, this most unlikely to happen.

The projections for Franchisees in year one have been kept purposely low to ensure that every Franchisee can realistically achieve them. We prefer to be honest and upfront from the start rather than making inflated on target earning which nobody ever achieves.

In the first year of becoming a Book-Builder Franchisee, you should make in the region of £25,000 gross profit. With the virtually guaranteed repeat business in subsequent years, gross profit in year two should be in the region of £40,000. With a five year Franchise licence, it is not difficult to see the level of profit that Franchisees can attain in subsequent years.
